-Trim the wick: Before lighting your wood wick candle, be sure to trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This will help prevent the flame from becoming too large and will ensure that your candle burns evenly.
-Burn for at least two to three hours: The first time you light your wood wick candle, be sure to burn it for at least two to three hours . This will allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the jar, which will prevent tunnelling (when the wax only melts down the center of the candle).
-Keep the wax pool clear: As your wood wick candle burns, be sure to keep the wax pool clear of any debris, such as wick trimmings or matches. This will help the candle burn smoothly and will prevent the flame from becoming obstructed.
-Don't burn for too long: While it's important to burn your wood wick candle for at least an hour at a time, you don't want to burn it for too long. A good rule of thumb is to burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. This will help prevent the wax from overheating and will extend the life of your candle.
-Store properly: When you're not using your wood wick candle, be sure to store it in a cool, dry place. This will help prevent the wax from melting and will keep your candle in good condition.
